Even with the highest quality local programming, it is nearly impossible to obtain high viewership for your PEG channel unless it is distributed in HD format. Yet many cable operators are reluctant to provide an HD channel.This session will discuss successful strategies for obtaining HD channels. It will include the FCC's original definition of a "channel" compared to today's HD channeland case studies of strategies that have worked in getting cable operators to grant HD format as part of franchise renewal negotiations.
