Annual MACTA Day at the Capitol on April 3, 2019

MACTA will hold a Day at the Capitol on April 3 to advocate on issues impacting local community television and local franchising. The all-day event is co-sponsored by the League of Minnesota Cities and coincides with Minnesota Rural Broadband Coalition Day at the Capitol.
Your participation is vital. This is your chance to meet directly with legislators, share your stories about the importance of supporting cable franchise funding of your local media center and municipal control of the public right-of-way.
The event starts with a meeting at the League building in which the group will hear from state officials as well as MACTA and LMC lobbyists. MACTA Lobbyists will review MACTA’s positions and provide talking points and materials to share with legislators. After lunch in the Governor's Dining Room near Capitol Rathskeller Cafe, you will be on your way to meet with legislators. MACTA lobbyists and legislative committee members are available to accompany participants in meetings if desired.
The meeting is intended for:
- MACTA members
- League members
- Alliance for Community Media (ACM) members
- ACM Midwest Regional members
City officials are encouraged to attend the event to advocate on issues impacting local community television and local franchising.
We are planning discussions to keep you connected with fellow advocates, ensure that you will feel confident and well prepared to meet your representatives, satisfied that your time and energy were well spent, and inspired to keep working.

The fee is $15 per person.
