Bloomington, MN


3. What is the approximate population of the area your organization serves?



4. What is the board/management structure?

The City of Bloomington video and cable television operations - for both government and public access - are part of the City’s Communications Division. Bloomington’s educational channel operates out of Valley View Middle School.

5. How many full-time and part-time staff members?

Bloomington maintains 4 full time and 3 part time staff for video and cable operations.

6. How many channels does your organization manage?

We currently manage 4 channels (Comcast); 7 channels (CenturyLink).

7. Do you have a fun fact or story about your organization?
Bloomington’s longest-running cable program, Police’s Roll Call, started somewhere you might not expect. The first episode of what was then known as the Bloomington Police Weekly Magazine was first taped in 1981 in a local gas station that had been converted into a television studio.
