Master Control Assistant - SWCTC

Position Summary
The Master Control Assistant is responsible for daily tasks performed in the TV studio master control as assigned by the Master Control Specialist. These duties will include programming, streaming and basic troubleshooting to ensure SWCTC video productions are transmitted to local cable subscribers. This is a part-time position with flexible hours averaging 25 hours per week.

Essential Functions:
Coordinate the scheduling and playback of automated cable channels.
Webstream city meetings and maintain host site by uploading agendas and links.
Create a daily program schedule for all government access channels.
Update both written and online program schedules.
Update community message boards on channels.
Cablecast and provide technical assistance at city meetings when needed.
Monitor the video/audio quality of all networks.
Record and edit meetings and other projects as needed.
Seek and obtain additional content for channels.
Provide basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
Report equipment operational problems to the Master Control Specialist.
Duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

High School diploma. Technical degree strongly preferred.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot network IT systems.
Knowledge of Final Cut X, Adobe Creative Cloud, Office 365, and Google Docs.
Familiarity with automated content playback and archiving software a plus.
Work in a team environment.

Requirements:
Must be 18-years of age or older.
Must have a valid driver's license and provide own transportation.
Must be able to lift heavy equipment.
Availability days, nights, and weekends.

This position is not eligible for health and dental insurance, vacation, or sick leave as defined in the South Washington County Telecommunications Commission (SWCTC) Employee Handbook.
SWCTC will compensate mileage according to the IRS standard mileage rate for employment relating mileage.

This position is under the supervision of the Master Control Specialist.
